RAID: Shadow Legends offers several ways to develop a collection, but a new account cannot pursue every goal equally. Our RAID beginner game mode priorities put Campaign first, Dungeons second and Demon Lord third, followed by Classic Arena and Faction Wars. This is an investment order, not a rule to leave usable keys untouched.
Quick picks: Campaign for initial progression, Dungeons for a specific upgrade, Demon Lord for a clan activity. Checked October 17, 2026 against Plarium's documentation; no timed account test.
How we rank early-game priorities
Focus development on your current account problem. A lower-ranked mode can still deserve an available attempt today.
Our editorial grid scores each mode from zero to two on building an initial account foundation, 40%; useful development resources, 30%; keeping investment concentrated, 20%; and independence from PvP competition, 10%. Zero means a poor fit for that criterion, one a conditional fit, and two a strong fit for this beginner brief. The weighted score totals each rating divided by two, multiplied by its weight.
These editorial scores are not measured efficiency or minimum roster requirements. Campaign's progression role leads; targeted Dungeon rewards follow. Faction restrictions make a broad roster a less attractive first investment. Arena breaks its tie with Faction Wars through its Great Hall connection.
| Priority | Activity | Foundation / resources / focus / non-PvP | Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Campaign | 2 / 2 / 2 / 2 | 100/100 |
| 2 | Dungeons | 2 / 2 / 1 / 2 | 90/100 |
| 3 | Demon Lord | 1 / 2 / 1 / 2 | 70/100 |
| 4 | Classic Arena | 1 / 1 / 1 / 0 | 45/100 |
| 5 | Faction Wars | 1 / 1 / 0 / 2 | 45/100 |
Five modes and when they deserve your time

Campaign and Dungeons lead development investment. Demon Lord, Arena and Faction Wars add different objectives and resources.
1. Campaign — build your initial foundation
Our call: make Campaign the default progression focus before spreading investment across specialist projects. Plarium's beginner advice describes replaying Campaign and Dungeon missions when developing champions, subject to available Energy. Pick Campaign when you need to get your starting collection moving. Skip repetition when it no longer answers a concrete need. Its first place does not imply identical returns from every stage or a measured universal farming route.
2. Dungeons — target a specific upgrade
Dungeons rank second because their documented rewards include equipment, potions and mastery materials. That gives you a reason to select a destination before spending resources. Pick the dungeon tied to the upgrade you actually need, rather than treating the whole category as one checklist to finish. Skip deeper investment when you cannot explain which problem its reward solves. The lower focus score reflects several distinct upgrade goals and bosses; it is an editorial caution about spreading investment, not proof that every early dungeon needs a separate team.
3. Demon Lord — add the clan objective
Demon Lord belongs alongside your main development rather than replacing it. Plarium documents a clan boss activity with its own keys and rewards linked to performance. Pick an available attempt when your account can participate, and assess further investment against your current team. Skip chasing a higher target simply because another account reaches it. The third-place rank addresses where to direct development effort; it is not an instruction to discard available keys or spend premium currency. We do not promise a chest tier or a damage threshold.
4. Classic Arena — pursue its account benefit deliberately
Classic Arena ranks fourth because its competitive element adds a different constraint from progressing through PvE. The official overview connects its medals to Great Hall bonuses. Pick battles with that account objective in mind, rather than treating leaderboard position as the only reason to enter. Skip a large new roster project if it undermines your first development goal. Classic Arena is the ranked entry here: Live Arena and Tag Team Arena are different formats, and their requirements or rewards should not be silently substituted for it.
5. Faction Wars — use the collection you can support
Faction Wars ranks fifth for new investment because its faction-specific teams reward collection breadth. Plarium's official guide describes faction restrictions and separate Crypt Keys. Pick accessible battles with champions you already have before making every faction another development project. Skip forcing a new team solely to check off this list. Lower priority does not mean weak rewards or permission to ignore usable keys. The guide is an older baseline; this article deliberately omits its historical key counts, schedules and stage totals rather than presenting them as a fresh patch audit.
What changes the order for your account

Move an activity up when it answers a specific bottleneck you can identify. For the wider context, use our RAID coverage hub and assessment of RAID's long-term demands, rather than interpreting this list as a complete account guide.
| Your immediate need | Consider first |
|---|---|
| Starting collection progression | Campaign |
| A particular upgrade resource | The relevant Dungeon |
| A clan activity with available keys | Demon Lord |
| Great Hall progress through Classic medals | Classic Arena |
| A usable faction team and Crypt Keys | Faction Wars |
What just missed: Hydra and Doom Tower. They are separate objectives outside this short starting-investment list, not inferior modes. Add them when your account is ready for their requirements.
What would change this ranking: altered reward structures, revised access rules or a different account bottleneck. A mode's score is not a reason to spend resources without a goal.
Must you finish one mode before entering another? No. Does a lower rank mean skipping its free attempts? No. Separate your long-term development priorities from the attempts available during today's visit.
