Neverness to Everness vs Arknights Endfield is a choice between two reasons to keep exploring. One builds its identity around a strange city. The other makes an industrial frontier part of your adventure.

The short answer: pick NTE for urban investigations, driving and home customization. Pick Endfield if gathering resources and organizing factory production sounds like a reward, rather than an interruption. For exploration without an industrial focus, NTE gets the edge. Factory-minded players should reverse that verdict.

Time investment, checked November 2, 2026: NTE's publisher dates its public launch to April 29, 2026, just over six months earlier. Endfield's publisher listing on Epic gives January 22, 2026, a little over nine months earlier. NTE's July Steam arrival is a later storefront release. Neither launch date measures your catch-up workload, and no comparable all-content finishing maximum was verified.

How we compared: publisher storefront descriptions, NTE's launch announcement and its US App Store version history. NTE lists 1.4.0. An exact current Endfield patch number was not verified. This is a documentary comparison, without hands-on timing, performance measurements or a spending test.

City exploration or factory expansion?

An operator stands beside a Packaging Unit in historical Beta Test II factory footage.

NTE wins for city activities; Endfield wins for production planning. That distinction comes from their publishers' descriptions, rather than a claim that either game has only one activity.

Do you want a neighborhood or a production network?

NTE places its Anomaly Hunter in Hethereau, working with the Eibon antique shop. Its developer describes supernatural commissions, unusual residents and hidden shops. Driving and decorating a home extend that city-life focus beyond combat. Choose it when the place itself is your main attraction.

Endfield makes exploration serve a different project. GRYPHLINE describes gathering resources across Talos-II and using the AIC Factory to build production lines. The illustrated Packaging Unit comes from historical Beta Test II footage. It shows the factory theme, without certifying the current interface or balance.

Edge: Endfield for factory planning; NTE for city life. A conveyor belt is either an invitation or more work. Decide which before choosing.

Which combat and progression loop fits you?

Pick NTE if supernatural companions and investigations matter most. Pick Endfield if combat belongs inside a broader expansion-and-production project. Neither description proves a universal difficulty winner.

What do you want between encounters?

NTE's highlighted combat scene shows a fighter casting blue rings inside a crimson hall. It establishes the scene's fantasy, not a damage benchmark. The useful question is whether you want to return from encounters to the city's people and personal activities.

Endfield's publisher calls it a real-time strategy RPG and links its operators to frontier expansion. That supports a recommendation for players interested in interconnected exploration and industry. It does not establish exact daily chores, an optimal factory layout or faster progression than NTE.

For the wider systems, start with the Neverness to Everness overview and Arknights: Endfield game library. Those destinations keep this duel focused on choosing a loop, rather than retelling two complete guides.

Edge: NTE for the urban-adventure preference; Endfield for the production preference. Neither wins on unmeasured responsiveness.

Which game should you pick?

Choose according to the activity you want to repeat. NTE's city lifestyle and Endfield's industrial expansion are stronger tiebreakers than their launch ages.

Pick NTE if investigations, vehicles and home customization are the reason you want another RPG. Its younger public history does not prove a smaller backlog or quicker route to everything currently available.

Pick Endfield if resource gathering and factory organization belong on your wish list. Do not choose it expecting a verified shorter daily routine. No equivalent schedule was measured here.

Spending pressure: both checked storefronts offer free access and optional purchases. Those labels do not settle generosity, drop rates or the cost of pursuing a particular character. No spending winner is awarded. Set a limit before turning either collection system into a shopping target.

Switching cost: list what you still want from your current RPG before adding another. Story progress, optional exploration and recurring activities are different commitments. A guide's story-only estimate would not be comparable to someone else's completionist total, even if both supplied an hour count.

If building a production network is part of your ideal adventure, choose Endfield. If your priority is living in a supernatural city, choose NTE.
