Editorial policy
The rules every GameSelecto article follows, and what happens when one of them is broken.
Independence
No advertiser, affiliate partner, publisher or manufacturer sees an article before it is published, and none has any say in what we cover or how we score it. We do not accept payment for coverage, for a score, or for a position in a ranking.
Accuracy
- Every factual claim carries a source: the publisher, the link and the date we consulted it.
- We never publish a measurement, a price, a play time or a rate we have not verified ourselves or sourced to a primary publisher.
- Numbers that depend on a version are stamped with that version.
Rumour is not information
Unconfirmed information is labelled as unconfirmed in the body of the article, next to the claim — not only in a note at the end. We name who reported it and how reliable that source has been. If it is later confirmed or denied, we update the article and say what changed.
Corrections
We correct in place, date the correction and keep the original claim visible so you can see what was wrong. Significant corrections are noted at the top of the article. Report an error tohello@gameselecto.com.
Images and rights
We publish no image without a verified licence. Screenshots, press assets and third-party photos carry their attribution and licence. If you hold rights to something published here and believe it is used incorrectly, contact us and we will act.
Commercial content
Affiliate links are disclosed before the content, on every article that carries one. See theaffiliate disclosure. We do not publish sponsored posts. If that ever changes, such articles will be labelled as advertising, unambiguously, at the top.
Use of AI
We use software tools to research, structure and check our work. Judgement, testing and verdicts are human. We do not publish a played impression, a measurement or an opinion that no human at GameSelecto actually formed. Every article is signed by the person responsible for it.
How to hold us to this
If an article on this site breaks one of these rules, tell us. We would rather correct it in public than keep it.
