Money, in plain sight

Affiliate disclosure

Some links on GameSelecto earn us a commission. Here is exactly how that works and what it never changes.

Draft. This page is a working draft written to get the site structurally complete. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and must be checked before launch.

The short version

When you buy something through some of our hardware links, GameSelecto may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. A commission never buys a score, a placement or a recommendation.

Where it applies

  • Hardware reviews, rankings and comparisons carry affiliate links to retailers.
  • Every article that contains one shows a disclosure at the top, before the content.
  • Game articles may link to stores; those links are marked the same way.

What it never changes

  • Which products we test.
  • The score a product receives.
  • The order of a ranking.
  • Whether we recommend against buying something.

We regularly recommend the cheaper option, and we publish "do not buy" verdicts on products we are an affiliate for. If a commission ever conflicted with a verdict, the verdict wins and we say so.

Programmes we participate in

[À COMPLÉTER — David] List each affiliate programme by name once you have joined it (for example Amazon Associates and the retailer programmes you sign up to). Several programmes, including Amazon Associates, contractually require their exact disclosure wording to appear on this page — copy their required sentence verbatim.

Advertising

GameSelecto also displays advertising. Ad slots are reserved in the page template and are never placed inside the flow of an article in a way that pushes the content. Advertisers have no access to, and no influence over, editorial content.
